DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. Tracie opens the episode by sharing an affirmation, “the universe has made me unique, and I will not allow my fears to make me standard.” How does this resonate with you?

  2. April talks more about exploring her Cherokee heritage. Have you ever explored your ancestry in more depth? What was that like? What could it look like for you to begin your own exploration?

  3. April shares what the Native leader of her healing workshop shared, that our ancestors chose strategies like assimilation in order to survive. What are some of the survival strategies your ancestors used? How does thinking of yourself as the product of the choices that your ancestors made to survive impact your view of yourself?

  4. Tracie realized that she was unconsciously judging the choices of her ancestors, particularly related to assimilation. Is this true for you? Can you also find compassion like Tracie? What other emotions come up?
